RUNNING A PTA OR PTSA

Welcome to PTA® leadership!

You are in a great position to help children succeed!

As a PTA leader, you focus your community on the needs of your members and their children. Your leadership will motivate volunteers and persuade local decision makers. You and your team will communicate with teachers and administrators, raise funds and awareness, provide much-needed programs for students and families, encourage reading and the arts, and much, much more.

Because of you and your fellow PTA members,

the children and schools of your community will be more successful.

If you are a new leader or a returning leader , we are here to support you in any way we can. If you need assistance please don't hesitate to contact any one of the Arizona PTA Board of Managers, we are here to assist you with a successful PTA year.

Just Between Friends

Membership Management and Communications

To better inform all PTA members and enhance the effectiveness of our child advocacy efforts, in 2009 National PTA® selected Just Between Friends as the PTA membership management and communication system.  Just Between Friends was chosen because they exhibit “best-in-class” capabilities for a private, secure system.

Today, thousands of PTAs are using Just Between Friends for membership management; printing membership cards; communicating with their entire schools through emails and automatic reminders; volunteer/participation management; and online or paper directory creation.

Over the past year, Just Between Friends listened to units using the system; and collaborating with PTA, developed the next generation which enhances your user
experience.  Some enhancements include:

  • Dramatically increased speed
  • Fewer clicks to accomplish tasks
  • Easier, more streamlined member entry
  • Quick-start videos and instant access online help
  • A friendlier look and layout

Just Between Friends also streamlines your Reflections Program and the system’s volunteer module is suitable for tracking Three for Me hours.

PTA recommends that all units use Just Between Friends to enhance local units' membership and communication capabilities.  It will simplify your life and strengthen your PTA.  You can enter your unit into the system by visiting www.JustBetweenFriends.com/PTAquickstart.  To learn how to use the system, visit www.LearnJBF.com.  Here you’ll find lots of “How-to” information, useful insights plus a list of live and recorded webinars, as well as self-training modules.  At www.LearnJBF.com, you’ll also be able to download PDFs with step-by-step instructions – including how to print membership cards.

Using Just Between Friends, you can add members or have them enter or update their own information, through an invitation.  By using the invitation method, you’ll be able to keep your membership roles, contact lists and directories fresh and accurate.  This method “invites” the member to update their information periodically.
