Welcome to
Arizona
PTA!
Welcome
to the 21st Century of PTA!
Arizona
PTA and its local PTA units are members of the largest volunteer child
advocacy association in the nation.
Our association provides parents and
families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while
providing the best tools for families and communities to help their
children be successful students. Arizona and National PTA work
in cooperation with many state and national education, health, safety,
and child advocacy groups, as well as, state and federal agencies to
collaborate on projects that benefit children and bring valuable
resources to our members.
‘Making
every child’s potential a reality’ is the PTA Mission.
For more than century we have been dedicated to engaging parents,
teachers, schools, and the education community to improve learning in
and out of the classroom. In the 21st century we are
focused on connecting with all of those who share the idea the every
child has great potential. Working together we can empower
parents and families in their efforts to raise healthy, well educated
children. Together, we can make a difference for all of
Arizona
’s children, families, and the
education community.
Connect
to PTA –
Arizona
and National PTA. We have so many outstanding programs,
projects, events, materials, opportunities for leadership training and
parent education, as
well as services to enhance the work being done by our
units and members. Local units are encouraged to take advantage
of programs such as our Parent Involvement Project.
Arizona PTA through a grant given
to us from Arizona Department of Education, Health and Safety
provides grants that are available to local
PTAs/PTSAs for
their schools. Together with PIRC (Parent Involvement Resource
Centers), parent involvement
and education programs are
available for families in Title 1 schools. Our partner,
McDonalds provides opportunities for local
PTAs to
receive awards for academic programs that encourage healthy lifestyles
through Go-Active awards and the Readers Are Leaders for reading
programs in their schools.
The PTA Reflections program is an opportunity for students in our local
PTA schools to share their interpretation of this year’s theme ‘I
Can Make a Difference by’ through their creative and artistic
expressions.
PTA
makes a difference in the lives of our children and our schools.
Whether the focus is on healthy lifestyles, promoting
the
arts, quality time, legislation related to education and children’s
health, internet safety, focusing on fathers, leadership training,
emerging minority leadership development, or
parent/family engagement, or any of our excellent
programs, our local PTA units make a difference in our schools every
day. They
lead the way for
Arizona
’s children to be successful in school.
You
can make a difference! Join the local PTA at your local
school,
just by being a member tells a
child that you are supporting their efforts to be successful in
school. Volunteer to help with a PTA event. Attend PTA
meetings. Meet other parents and families. Participate in
parenting programs. Take advantage of the members’ benefits by

Arizona
PTA’s Board of Managers is committed to serving our local units and
members with exceptional quality service, excellent training programs,
and the latest information and resources for parents. Plan now
to participate at the 2008 Convention, May 30 – June 1, at the

training and resources to enable our PTAs to succeed at their school
for their children.
