Parent Involvement Project

Arizona PTA Parent Involvement Project

The Parent Involvement Project is a statewide Arizona PTA program designed to improve parent-child communication on a variety of sensitive issues, including sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, healthy / unhealthy peer relationships, and risk behaviors such as self-injury and substance abuse. Local PTA/PTSA units can apply for mini-grants of $300 - $1000 to fund activities and events that address these issues. Each site determines the needs of the parents within their school and what activities they would like to do. Collaborations between local PTA’s are encouraged. Assistance in completing grant applications is available. The project is funded by the Arizona Department of Education.
