Helpful tips when using OMDR (Online Membership and Dues Reporting):

Names may appear twice on roster. Anyone with a designation other than member (officer) will appear twice. They should have the same ID number.

If you get an error message stating your city, state or zip code are not registered with the United States Postal Service, email national PTA at www.pta.org with the zip code and they can update their system and add your zip code to their data base. Once added you should be able to enter information.

When uploading from a excel spreadsheet, make sure to remove the headings.

When entering officer’s election date, this should be the membership year. Otherwise the membership cards will be incorrect.

OMDR does not have an entry for member description, such as father, teacher, grandparent, business or school staff. You must keep track of this in order to apply for awards with the spring membership report. This is a National PTA program and every State has different ways of honoring awards for membership.

If you enter a member with a future membership date, you must open in future members, not current members.

If you enter an email address for a member, National may email a welcome letter and other solicitations. If you wish to opt out of these emails, please notify them at info@pta.org. Otherwise OMDR is secure and private.

A paper copy of the report is to be turned in with your dues payment by November 1, January 15 and March 1. We do this so we can file it and have it available when needed.

Things you can do with OMDR. Ability to print your membership cards right off your computer printer. Email your members, users do not need separate e-mail programs to send e-mails through OMDR. Please note: This is not for attachments, but rather basic member information and reminders. This is a one-way communication. If you’re expecting responses, you should note an e-mail address to which they can respond. So the e-mail won’t be treated as “spam,” you can instruct your members to add the message they receive from you to their address book as a contact.

What else does Arizona PTA do?

Arizona PTA encourages...

Parent Involvement

A primary objective of PTA is to encourage greater involvement of parents with their children in their schools. PTA's help parents in the effort through the following:

  • Providing training on parenting skills.
  • Conducting and participating in local and statewide conference on child-related issues.
  • Continuing to be the largest and most effective association advocating for the education, health, safety and well-being of all children and youth.

Legislative Involvement

A PTA is a proactive advocate for children's legislative issues and has influenced major legislation. A legislative platform is passed by our members annually. Some of Arizona PTA's current legislative issues include:

  • Demanding adequate and equitable funding for public education.

  • Fighting attempts to divert public taxes to private schools through voucher programs.

  • Supporting use of bicycle helmets and other health and safety issues.

  • Promoting parental involvement.

Arizona PTA supports local PTA units through...

  • Leadership Development

  • Training officers and members through convention workshops and Essential Officers Training.

  • Distributing manuals and pamphlets for use by officers.

  • Communication

  • Informing local units about events and child-related issues through bulletins and our popular News Report.

  • Publishing up-to-date materials on issues related to children, family and school.

Protection of Officers and Assets
  • Maintains a liability policy to protect local unit officers from liability of being sued over PTA events and functions.
  • Maintains a bonding policy to protect local units from fraud and theft.
The State Office
  • Provides help that is readily available by telephone or visiting our State Office.
  • Facilitates the flow of information between the local unit and the National PTA.

Your parent group would benefit being a PTA by...

  • having a voice in improving the health, education, and well-being of children.
  • working toward a common goal with other parents, educators and community leaders around the state.
  • having access to leadership training workshops, conferences and conventions.
  • receiving information and new ideas through PTA publication.
  • having representation before legislators in Arizona and Washington D.C.
  • receiving support from Arizona PTA Board members that are specialists in their areas.
  • having comprehensive liability protection for your officers and bonding insurance for your assets.
  • having access to resources and effecting training for officers, parents, and children's issues

Arizona PTA would be honored to have your
parent group as part of the PTA family.

every child, one voice
