McDonald’s® $1,000 Go Active! Academic Awards

PTA schools have the opportunity to be selected to receive a $1,000 award by applying for a McDonalds Go Active! Academic Award this year. The McDonald’s Go Active! Academic Awards program will give $1,000 prizes to up to 10 schools selected for their unique educational programs that promote balanced, active lifestyles among 5th-8th grade students.

Nominated programs must be in addition to the school’s and/or teacher’s regular teaching curriculum. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2008.

Go Active awards will not be available to local PTA unit schools in the Tucson/Southern Arizona area.

Go Active applicants will be notified of the selection committee’s decision in Sept. 2008. McDonald’s Go Active! Academic Award applications are available on this website under the Awards & Application "button", so enter today!

National PTA Convention

Connect at National Convention

The PTA National Convention is a skill-building and networking experience available during June 2008. You can “Connect for Success” at the 112th Annual PTA National Convention and Exhibition, in San Diego , June 20–23, 2008.

There will be 56 skill-building and personal growth workshops. and more than 200 exhibits showing new programs and products.
You'll be able to hear poet and activist Maya Angelou and CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta speak.

Attending the PTA National Convention is an investment you can make in yourself, your officers, and your PTA. Improve your leadership skills; get new ideas and learn how to address issues affecting PTAs, schools, and children.
